complete and return the registration form along with the following:
- A copy of the candidate’s ID
- A full-length photo (simple presentation in class attire)
- The tschnical form
ANY INCOMPLETE APPLICATION WILL NOT BE PROCESSED
The application deadline is June 10, 2026
As the number of participants is limited, registration may close before this date if the maximum number of candidates is reached.
However, after this date, applications may still be accepted depending on availability.
The registration fee is €65 for one participation.
In the case of registration in both Classical and Contemporary, the fee is €110.
As places are limited, no refunds will be issued, except in the event of cancellation of the competition by the organizers.
Only payment of the registration fee confirms the candidate’s participation. Payment may be made by cheque (payable to GPJE) or by bank transfer (bank details available upon request by email).
Choosing the CLASS and CATEGORY
The choice of Class is determined according to the intensity of the candidate’s training.
Class A (“Espoir”): For dancers from any school with amateur training, without adjusted school schedules or specific preparation, and who do not regularly compete.
Class B (“Étude”): For dancers from any school who regularly compete, therefore following more intensive training than Class A, or benefiting from specific preparation classes (with or without adjusted academic schedules).
Class C (“Pre-Professional”): Reserved for dancers from any school, aged 12 and above, following intensive training and benefiting from specific preparation (with or without adjusted academic schedules), and who may wish to pursue a professional career.
The jury reserves the right to change a candidate’s class if they consider that the chosen level does not correspond to the candidate’s actual level.
The choice of Category corresponds to the candidate’s age on the first day of the competition.
CLASSICAL : Préparatoire ( 8 – 9 ans ), Élémentaire ( 10 – 11 ans ), Moyen ( 12 – 13 ans ), Intermédiaire ( 14 – 15 ans ), Avancé ( 16 – 17 ans ), Supérieur ( 18 – 20 ans ).
CONTEMPORARY : Élémentaire ( 10 – 11 ans ), Moyen ( 12 – 13 ans ), Intermédiaire ( 14 – 15 ans ), Avancé ( 16 – 17 ans ), Supérieur ( 18 – 20 ans ).
Exceptions may be granted to candidates in Classes B and C. Candidates who have won a 1st Prize or the Grand Prix may compete again in the same category if their age still corresponds to it.


Variations and Music
Free variations must not exceed: 2 minutes 30 seconds for Class C and 2 minutes for Classes A and B
Repertoire variations are authorized only for: Class C from Moyen (12–13 years) and Class B from Intermediaire (14–15 years)
Only Class C Classical candidates in Intermediaire, Avancé, and Supérieur categories must present two variations, including one mandatory repertoire variation.
The second variation may also be from the repertoire or a free composition, in Classical style or with a contemporary influence.
For any variation requiring the choreographer’s authorization, the candidate must request permission and provide proof at the time of registration.
Music files must be sent by email no later than June 15, in mp3, m4a, or WAV format.
As a precaution, candidates are asked to bring a backup copy on a USB drive on the day of the competition.
Pointe or Demi-Pointe
Demi-pointe required:
- Classical Preparatoire A and B
- Elementaire A and B
- Moyen A
At the teacher’s request, Elementaire B candidates may receive special permission to perform on pointe.
Pointe or Demi-pointe (choice must be specified on the registration form):
Classical Intermediaire A
Pointe required:
- Classical Moyen B and C
- Intermediaire B and C
- Avancé A, B, and C
- Supérieur A, B, and C
In Contemporary, candidates may perform their variation in demi-pointe or barefoot.
Attire
Qualifying Rounds:
Light-colored class attire required.
Girls: no skirts during class. Skirts are allowed for stage performances of variations.
Boys: black tights permitted.
Final Rounds:
Stage costumes allowed.
Accessories are permitted exclusively for repertoire variations.
Sets/scenery are not allowed.
Venues
Classes will take place in a studio.
Variations will be performed on stage at the Théâtre J. Vilar, located at Place de l’Hôtel de Ville.
The theatre is an Italian-style theatre with a stage opening width of 9 meters and a depth of 10 meters.
There is no slope. Dancers will perform on a stage floor covering.
A warm-up room will be available for candidates.
Photography and Filming
Any photographer must obtain authorization from the Organizing Committee.
No photos or videos of candidates’ performances may be taken or distributed without prior authorization from the Organizing Committee.
Anyone present or participating in the competition waives all rights to images taken by the Organizing Committee (television, video, or photos) and authorizes their use on all media for promotional, communication, or advertising purposes.
Organization and Schedule
Provisional Organization for 2026
If necessary, the organizers reserve the right to modify the competition schedule. Candidates are advised to stay informed of any changes prior to attending. A detailed schedule will be sent one week before the competition.
SATURDAY, JULY 4
Morning – Presentation Classes before the Jury
Mandatory classes for CLASSICAL candidates in:
Elementaire B, Moyen, Intermediaire, Avancé, Supérieur A and B.
These classes are given by a jury member in the presence of the full jury. They are not graded.
They are closed to the public and teachers (unless invited by the Jury or the Director of the Organizing Committee).
Stage Marking (Spacing Rehearsal)
Morning priority for Class C candidates (Classical and Contemporary).
Class B candidates may participate depending on availability.
Class A candidates and others may use jury deliberation breaks for brief stage access before their category performance.
Closed to the public; only the teacher with badge may attend.
Afternoon – Stage Presentation of Variations
QUALIFYING ROUNDS:
For CLASSICAL candidates: Elementaire B, Moyen, Intermediaire, Avancé, Supérieur A, B, and C.
Intermediare, Avancé, and Supérieur C must present a repertoire variation.
Class attire required.
Preparatoire A and B and Elementaire A Classical candidates are not scheduled on this first day.
DIPLOMA ROUNDS:
For CONTEMPORARY candidates (all categories). Stage costumes allowed.
Prize ceremony may take place the same evening or the following day, depending on theatre availability.
SUNDAY, JULY 5
Morning – Presentation Classes and Masterclass
A presentation class may be organized for Classical Preparatoire B and Elementaire A. Preparatoire A may participate upon teacher request.
A Masterclass is offered to:
- Class C Classical candidates (from Moyen upward)
- Class B candidates (from Intermediaire upward)
Participation must be requested on the registration form (limited places).
Class A candidates from Intermediaire (14–15 years) upward may participate depending on availability.
An additional Masterclass may be offered on Friday, July 3, late afternoon.
Afternoon – Stage Presentation of Variations
DIPLOMA ROUNDS:
All CLASSICAL candidates present the same variation as in the qualifying round, but in stage costume.
Class C candidates in Intermediaire, Avancé, and Supérieur categories must present their two variations.
The prize ceremony will take place on stage. All finalist candidates must be present in costume following the closing performance.

Additional Information
Candidates and their teacher will receive a badge allowing access to dressing rooms and circulation within the theatre.
Due to limited capacity:
Teachers may accompany students backstage only during their performance slot.
Candidates may enter dressing rooms no earlier than 1 hour before their stage time.
They may access the warm-up room but not backstage before their time slot.
Dressing rooms must be vacated after each category.
Only one teacher per school may access dressing rooms.
Attending the Competition
Stage performances are open to the public with a 2-day Pass:
€25 per person
€13 for children under 12
Free for children under 4
No passes will be sold on site. Reservations must be made in advance by contacting the committee by email.
A security service is mandatory for public events.
Candidates and teachers must wear their badge at all times.
Audience members must wear their wristband ticket to enter and circulate inside the theatre.
Important reminder:
Classical Preparatoire A and B and Elementaire A candidates compete only on Sunday.
Contemporary candidates (all categories) compete only on Saturday.
